Media Millionaires Don’t Really Exist today.

They exist in the form creators earning from advertising and platforms fees for generating content but that’s not really how the model should work. The model should be one where creators are paid to be trigger action.

One where, if you create content on a technical subject and are able to build a high quality audience, and a fund invests in one of your followers you will be given a cut.

Here are 3 reasons Media Millionaires become common:

Reason #1 — The Creator Economy is Tiny Today

The Creator Economy makes up 1% of the internet population.

Of that 1% about 0.1% of the has learned to monetize their content in a sizeable way. Much of these creators are based in the West. There is a whole set of underrepresented creators globally that have ideas waiting to be shared.

Such a small population means the Content Creator being a millionaire seems likely.

Reason #2 — Universal Creator Income replaces Basic Income

Platforms will lose their ability to generate attention as a currency.

Unless, they treat their mass creator ecosystem better. The majority of creators in the platform ecosystem don’t even earn poverty level earnings meaning it is a side gig. Creator Economy Companies like YouTube, Pinterest are already cash flow machines.

Its time these platforms invest some of that cash in their creators and move to a model where creators are paid so they can take risk on generating new content.

Reason #3 — Content Writing for Technical Subjects will Create Startups — Inspiring Action has Value

There is much content on the internet that is yet to be created. (In digestible form)

A creator universal income will create a new breed of creators. Soon, even someone like a Geology researcher who would be employed by an institute could choose to be a creator. Imagine if hundreds of pieces content on drilling through rocks becomes available for masses to understand.

The could spur action by enterprising founders which can create a media millionaire out of the Geologist.

A new breed of millionaires inspiring may become the norm.
